Conference and banqueting rooms were transformed into different countries, with matching food and music.
Each of the 400 guests received an airline ticket on arrival which was stamped as they visited each country, entering them into a prize draw.
The new Oceanic Restaurant was turned into the USA with waiters serving mini hot dogs and burgers and crooning from a Frank Sinatra impersonator.
The Newbury Suite became an English country garden complete with talking box hedges, scones, finger sandwiches and a mountain of traditional sweets – the Bijou Bar being given a Moroccan makeover.
At 9pm guests went via mock airport-style security to Asia in the Atrium, where chefs cooked with woks and sushi was served in traditional Bento boxes.
The night was rounded off with dancing in the Commonwealth Suite.Comment below and let us know what you think.
