The Journey to 2012 event, held in the Ballroom at the Dorchester, raised more than £200,000 for the PSP Association. The charity aims to find a cure for the degenerative brain disease that Coe lost his mother to in 2005.
Guests arrived for a Nyetimber sparkling wine reception followed by a three-course meal with coffee and party drinks courtesy of Johny Walker Gold Reserve and Nyetimber.
After dinner, presenter Michael Parkinson recreated his famous Saturday night show live to interview Coe about his ‘Journey to 2012’.
When the interview ended, Jeffrey Archer took to the stage to host an auction that included a private riding lesson with Zara Philips and a special edition 2012 Mini parked at the event, signed by 15 Team GB stars including Victoria Pendleton, David Weir, Ellie Simmonds, Louis Smith and Anna Watkins.
Singer Emeli Sande then entertained guests, and diamond specialists Duttson Rocks hid a diamond in a box of chocolates for a lucky guest to keep in return for a donation.
