Picture gallery: Four Paralympic flames unite at Stoke Mandeville

The four flames were lit on 22 August by groups of scouts on the four highest mountain peaks in the UK: Ben Nevis in Scotland, Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Slieve Donard in Northern Ireland.
They were carried by torchbearers and united in a celebration cauldron at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Buckinghamshire, home of the Stoke Mandeville Games, which are seen as the birthplace of the Paralympic movement.
The event marked the start of a 24-hour relay to transport the flame to the Olympic Stadium for the Paralympic Opening Ceremony tonight.
The flame will travel 92 miles through 24 communities, passing through landmarks like Lord's Cricket Ground, Piccadilly Circus, Westminster Abbey and Tower Bridge.
Yesterday, each national flame attended events in its capital city, visiting hospitals, local youth groups, and arts and sports centres. Evening Flame Festivals attended by thousands were held in each city.
