Around 1,400 guests attended the opening ceremony of the 124th International Olympic Committee Session.
Company of Cooks produced 11,000 canapés and small dishes over three floors in four separate event spaces. The menu featured salmon confit with shredded fennel and preserved baby lemons, lemon and thyme roast chicken with parsley, brown rice, and sorrel yoghurt and berry champagne jelly.
Guests included the Princess Royal and Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco and Princess Charlene. They enjoyed a drinks reception, presentation by the IOC and live performances from the Royal Ballet and Royal Opera who were joined by Plácido Domingo, Bryn Terfel, Renee Fleming and Paloma Faith.
Mike Lucy, owner of Company of Cooks, said "We’re delighted that the IOC chose to hold this pivotal event at the Royal Opera House and that both the venue and Company of Cooks have had the opportunity to showcase the quality of events and hospitality that London is capable of and to such prestigious national and international guests."
