Febreze cleans up London for Olympics
Febreze is working with the Greater London Authority and outdoor media company Curb to bring the gardens to urban areas in London as part of parent company P&G’s Capital Clean Up campaign.
P&G – an Olympic sponsor – says the three-month campaign aims to spruce up the city before the Games this summer.
The mobile ‘Fresh Havens’ are planted with grass, trees and flowers and will appear across the capital encouraging Londoners to relax in a spot of greenery.
They will appear from 19 to 25 April at Liverpool Street, Euston, Victoria and Waterloo stations and Trafalgar Square as part of the garden-themed St George’s Day celebrations.
The campaign’s ambassador actress Keeley Hawes launched the Fresh Havens in Canary Warf yesterday morning.
P&G is also giving two of London’s overgrown green spaces a permanent makeover. It will work with landscape gardeners and community groups to transform Pinemartin Activity Park in Dollis Hill and part of the grounds of Whittington Hospital in Archway.
A wildflower meadow, children’s play area, planting space and a pagoda will be introduced in Pinemartin Activity Park while Whittington Hospital’s ground will be transformed with a timber pargoda, picnic area and sensory garden.
