Event has learned that all Christmas parties booked at The Boiler House in Battersea Power Station for 2011 were cancelled, after the venue went into administration.

A spokesperson for Industri Management, which handles events at the temporary structure inside the iconic venue, said that nothing went ahead.

Battersea Power Station went back up for sale in early December, after controllers Real Estate Opportunities went into administration. At the time, Industri said it was too early to tell what affect, if any, the news might have on the events venue.

One party for 550 guests was moved to the Old Vic Tunnels.

Bourne Capital event sales and marketing manager Valerie Coward, which manages events at the tunnels, said the company had ten days to put the event together. "We had to juggle several smaller parties, but managed to provide the group with an exclusive area in the tunnels."

According to Coward, Industri cancelled the event 20 days before it was due to go ahead. Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts was set to cater at the Boiler House over the Christmas period.

An Industri spokesperson told Event that it is currenty "business as usual" at the venue.
