QEIICC confirms it will be turned into Casa Italia for 2012 Games

The Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre (QEIICC) has confirmed that it will be the host venue for 'Casa Italia' during the 2012 Games, as well as the headquarters for Italy's Paralympic committee.

"The total absence of architectural barriers shall provide a prestigious and functional showcase for the people involved in the Paralympics," said the National Olympic Committee of Italy (CONI) chief executive Raffaele Pagnozzi.

'Casa Italia' will be open to the public and will showcase an exhibition of Italian companies and house hospitality areas and a performance centre for Italian artists.

Pagnozzi also stressed that it hopes ‘Casa Italia’ will help Italy promote Rome as a possible location for the 2020 Olympic bid.
