New media show Mobile Internet 2000 has been hailed a success with over 50% of exhibitors already signed up for next year.
The first Mobile Internet show took place last month at the CNIT centre, Paris. It attracted 78 exhibitors with more than 3,500 visitors.
Research carried out by organiser IBC Global Conferences predicts there will be 1.2 billion mobile data users worldwide by 2005. This was reflected in the fact that 17 products were launched at the show. Key exhibitors included Ericsson, Hewlett-Packard, AOL Wireless and Siemens.
'Next year's event will have double the floor space,' said IBC research director Nadim Chaundry.
