The NEC Group has unveiled details of initial food outlets due to open this autumn at the Birmingham exhibition venue. American sandwich chain Subway was the first brand to be signed up, followed by BB’s Coffee and Muffins café outlet. Subway will operate on the public concourse areas, the piazza and atrium. NEC Group catering director Sally Davis said: “Subway was chosen first, based on direct response from visitors, which identified that customers look for high-street brands in a venue such as ours.” Pub chain Wetherspoon will convert a self-service restaurant in the atrium into one of its outlets, scheduled to open on 24 October.
