Barratt will chair the Association of Exhibition Contractors. He is joined by ten council members including Nimlock managing director Tim Perutz and Opex chief executive Keith Greetham.
Nathan is made chairman of the Association of Exhibition Venues (AEV).
G-Mex general manager David Mallard has been elected as deputy chairman.
The first board meeting of the AEV will take place on 17 May when members will ratify the association's proposed business plan.
AEO deputy director Austen Hawkins said: "Industry input is very important. A clear business plan allows members to judge us on our goals and targets."
A priority of the three associations is to launch a combined Exhibition Media Marketing Agency (EMMA) to get brand marketers to recommend exhibitions to clients as well as influence the content of marketing courses to include the face-to-face discipline (Event, October 2003). "EMMA was the raison d'etre for involving all three sectors of the industry," said Hawkins.
