The event, organised by Mumsnet’s in-house events team, will take place on 7 June at Bafta 195 Piccadilly. It is aimed at women returning to work after maternity leave, looking to change career and considering setting up their own business.
Bridgewater, who set up her own ceramics business, will join a panel including Carrie Longton, co-founder of Mumsnet and Yasmina Siadatan, who won the fifth series of BBC One TV show The Apprentice in 2009. They will talk in a session called ‘taking the plunge’ which will explore the ways in which people can set up their own business.
Jo Malone, the founder of her self-titled fragrance company, will deliver the closing keynote at WorkFest and will talk about her career, from running a skin care clinic from home, to launching a new business called Jo Loves in 2011.
Chakrabarti, director of British civil liberties advocacy organisation Liberty, will join a session called ‘how do you do it all?’ looking at how women can manage a successful career whilst bringing up a family. She will be joined by Sara Bennison, marketing director of Barclays, and Sharmeden Reid, founder of Wah Nails.
WorkFest will also feature masterclasses on CV writing and social media, as well as other speaker sessions for those looking to switch jobs, and those embarking on a new business venture.
Justine Roberts, chief executive at Mumsnet, said: "Far from giving up on their careers when they have children, many women find their ambition and goals are crystallised: they return to work with fresh enthusiasm to meet new challenges, develop additional skills or even start businesses of their own.
"At WorkFest we’ve lined up some of the best speakers around to inspire, advise and enthuse women who are returning to work, changing career or taking the plunge and going it alone."
