Spicer has 16 years experience in the hospitality and event industry. He will be responsible for selling the Old Royal Naval College’s Painted Hall and the venue’s six baroque meeting spaces to the corporate and agency market.

He moves from the Madejski Stadium’s Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, where he was a sales manager.

Spicer said: "It is great to join the team at the Old Royal Naval College at a such exciting time when the venue is at a centre stage of this summer’s high profile events. I am looking forward to sharing with the corporate world a brand new meeting and conference facility within the Admirals House at the venue this spring."

Jo Austin, head of Lime Venue Portfolio, said: "We are confident that Wayne’s dynamism, wealth of knowledge and expertise in the industry will further establish the iconic Old Royal Naval College as a unique, leading destination for events in south east London."
