Mounting debts force Crystal Visions under

Design agency Crystal Visions has collapsed with debts believed to be in the region of £500,000.

Design agency Crystal Visions has collapsed with debts believed to be in the region of £500,000. A large proportion of the company’s client base was in the US and it has failed to recoup business losses worth more than £1m since 11 September. “We didn’t get the external investors we were looking for and the result is the company’s demise,” said former Crystal Visions marketing director Will Dixon. Dixon was offered a 5% stake in the firm, but negotiations were never finalised. He has now set up his own company, Design Original, and is hoping to build the business with former Crystal Visions clients. “We had an excellent customer service ethos, which I am taking to my new venture,” he said. The first job for Design Original was a 35sqm custom-built stand for satellite communications company Inmarsat at E-Base in Geneva from 28-30 May. Crystal Visions has about 30 creditors, the majority of which are thought to be graphic houses. Former Crystal Visions director Steven Comerford has expressed regret at the company’s collapse. Northampton administrator BRI is dealing with proceedings. Crystal Visions won two silver awards at the Marketing Event Awards 2000 for its work on stands for software company Symbian and Marconi Defence. Dixon began his working life as marketing services manager for diesel manufacturers Perkins Engines.
