Four representatives from the art group will be live-sketching the streets of the capital’s popular tourist destination, inviting passers-by to join and share tips from 11.30am - 5.30pm. Their work will be available to view online to those outside of London through maps, virtual galleries and Instagram posts.
In conjunction with the Covent Garden event, Moleskine’s retail outlet at 40 King Street and the London Graphic Centre in west London will host drop-in learning sessions for artists of all abilities to meet from the Urban Sketchers.
The special guests, who include London-based artist James Hobbs and Welsh illustrator Andrea Joseph, will chat to visitors about their work and art and offer guidance on participants’ drawings of Covent Garden.
The event celebrates Moleskine’s five year partnership with Urban Sketchers, which sees the stationer provide tools to the artists at their global symposiums and events. It follows the New York rendition of City Stories, which took place in May this year.
