The Mermaid announces three new appointments

London conference and events centre The Mermaid has appointed three new members of staff following the venue's recent business growth.

Glenn Mainwaring has been hired as business development manager, responsible for overseeing financial growth and improving The Mermaid’s market position. Mainwaring was previously sales and marketing manager at Searcys at the Barbican, and corporate sales manager at bar and club operator Novus Leisure.

Melissa Spanton, formerly sales executive at Clarion Events, is set to join the business development team as business development executive. The role of commercial manager has been filled by Helen Coles, who will take on the position on a consultancy basis as managing director at Espace Consultancy.

Alicia Duncan, general manager of The Mermaid, said: "The past year has been great for The Mermaid in terms of business growth, and it’s due to this success that we have expanded our team further. We are very pleased to welcome our new recruits and are confident that they will contribute to the ongoing success of the venue."
