Melville sets up online pre-show aid manual

Melville Exhibition Services has launched an online manual for organisers looking to help exhibitors with their pre-show arrangements.

The addition to the company website at, works alongside Melville's online ordering and registration systems, product locater and floorplan systems.

"Through the use of to-do lists, online manuals offer the ability to control and direct exhibitors. Many shows now use online manuals and in time they will deliver operational and cost efficiencies to organising companies,

said Melville Exhibition Services managing director Richard Pegler.

A feature of the manual is the ability to create visitor profiles and match them to companies exhibiting at each show via its registration database.

The online manual is part of Melville's restructuring plans (Event, February).

Melville has also invested in CAD software to enable organisers to plot the development of a show's floorplan. As exhibitors sign up, they are logged into the plan on their contracted stand. A spreadsheet is linked to the plan and an exhibitor list is produced, automatically listing stand numbers and sizes.

"We are applying better IT techniques to focused, objective-driven sales and marketing activities by thinking on an industry level and by working in partnership with organisers and venues,

said Pegler.
