Marler Haley unveils pop-up unit to reborn display arena

Modular display system supplier Marler Haley unveiled its Zenith pop-up unit last month. The launch is the latest initiative in a resurgent exhibition display market.

Marler Haley managing director Malcolm Hickin says the company, which is the stand and graphics arm of Mice Group, has spent the past 18 months developing the system.

Zenith folds in on itself in a scissors action and contains no loose parts. Fixed Mag Bars, on to which panels are attached, fold up and down with the unit. Internal wiring means any part of the display can be lit easily.

"We wanted to develop a stylish, competitively priced, user-friendly display that people could erect with the minimum of fuss and effort," said Hicken. "Customers can change the shape and size by adding additional Mag Bars as their exhibition presence grows."

"The state of the economy is very important for launching a product. We believe customers are no longer prepared to accept cheap imported banners and are looking to spend money on display equipment again."

Rival supplier Nimlok has launched a two-storey lightweight Double Deck stand system plus a Graphic Rail and a Magnetic Bar for its Concept display unit that came to market last year.

Nimlok marketing manager Emma Swales said: "Our Double Deck system gives exhibitors a big presence without the need to buy a bespoke system, saving thousands of pounds. The two Concept products complement the system."
