Marcom bought by Swedish firm

Marcom Presentations has been sold to Swedish group Konftel for an

undisclosed sum. The company becomes part of the group's audio-visual/IT

arm Impact Europe.

'Marcom is well established with an extremely good customer base and

gives us a critical mass in the UK market,' said Impact Europe managing

director Justin Kennington. 'We are keeping all the staff there. I will

be managing director for both companies.'

The announcement was made at the launch of Marcom's division Sprout,

which focuses on live communication solutions (Marketing Event,


'Both organisations are at the forefront within a high-tech area,' said

Marcom managing director Barry Seymour. 'Together we will be able to

function on a much broader international scale.'

Former Marcom chairman Mike Moran who will remain with the group as a

consultant said: 'Marcom will benefit from Impact Europe's purchasing

power, engineering and project management expertise.'

The purchase forms part of Konftel's three-step plan for the A-V/IT


'The first step was to become leaders in the Scandinavian market, which

we have done,' added Kennington. 'The second is to grow the UK market

with Marcom. The next step is now to acquire companies in Continental


Kennington could not comment on any re-branding of Marcom at the time of

going to press and stated that it was 'too early to say'.
