Luma uses event technology in pop-up shop

Event technology supplier Luma has launched a pop-up store which allows consumers to experience its innovative creations.

The YrStore pop-up appeared in Kingly Court, Carnaby Street, on Friday (7 June), and will remain there for four weeks.

The shop offers people the chance to design and make their own t-shirts using Luma's signature technology.

Among some of the gadgets are YrWall - an interactive wall that allows visitors to create art by using a digital spray can - from which the design can be transferred onto an American Apparel t-shirt.

Visitors can also upload their own high-resolution photos to be edited and transferred live into print.

As well as giving people the chance to come up with their own design, YrStore includes a new take on the YrMirror - an interactive mirror that has previously been used at experiential and brand-focused events.

The YrMirror at the pop-up outlet has been adapted to demonstrate what a customer will look like wearing their t-shirt before it has been printed by superimposing the image onto their reflection.

Tim Williams, commercial director at Luma, told Event: "We came up with the idea of YrStore to reach a wider audience but also to promote what we do and to showcase our technology.

"We think the potential for YrMirror is enormous. For us events are great, but if we can get it out in the retail market it is something we can sell immediately - it's a novelty but it's also something people want to see."
