The festival will bring together creatives to share their wisdoms, thoughts, experience and ideas revealing what inspires and motivates them in innovative and engaging sessions.
The brainchild of Westminster City Council and Tom Harvey, previously chief executive of Northern Film and Media and a former chief executve of the Edinburgh International Television Festival, SohoCreate will offer festival goers a programme of events across an array of topics.
Contributions will come from the world of television, film, advertising, music, games, post production, SFX, theatre and food and fashion. A number of theatres, clubs, churches and bars in Soho will open their doors to host the festival.
Harvey said: "Evidently Soho is the most extraordinary productive and creative square mile in the world, therefore it’s the ideal location for a creative festival."
Data commissioned by Westminster City Council and UKTI from BOP Consulting shows that nearly a quarter of Soho's entire employment is in the creative sector, and 20% of London's creative jobs are located there, making Soho one of the most creative square miles in the world.
"Although the BOP findings are significant and important, we want to move the debate on from outputs," Harvey added. "SohoCreate is a festival about creativity and inspiration."
