The Lodge will open six days a week from 25 October, located near to Balham Underground and Overground station, and will serve Londoners fondues, hot cocktails and wild game. Garcia has enlisted the help of set designer Firecracker Works to transform the space into an alpine lodge, which will involve a four-day build.
Garcia has formed a number of brand partnerships as part of the new project, including a collaboration with Mangrove UK and Coe Vintners, which the pop-up company will buy products from exclusively for the next 12 months. The two drinks brands will also be compiling a cocktail menu for The Lodge pop-up.
Other brands on-board include Neal’s Yard Dairy, which will be supplying cheese for fondues, Courchevel and Cobble Lane Cured which will provide cured meats and gamekeeper Rick Easton who will be supplying wild game hunted himself.
Garcia told Event: "This is a really exciting winter project where we're aiming to bring the snowy mountains to London for three months. Expect the finest cheese fondues, intricate game small plates, a selection of hot cocktails and lots of fun.
"We’re really excited to be able to let our imagination run away with us as we aim to create an atmospheric and fun place for people to come and eat and drink this winter."
He added The Lodge will also be available to hire out for private parties throughout the week.
Garcia spoke at the inaugural London Christmas Party Show, organised by Story Events, in June about the power of pop-ups.Comment below to let us know what you think.
