The exchange programme has been launched through The Staffing Collective - a global network of staffing agencies that crosses more than 30 countries.
The first two workers to embark on a two-week job swap are Lucy Colgate, account manager at Kru in London, and Frankie Alaimo from Victory Marketing in Florida. They were chosen following a rigorous selection process that included written submissions, internal interviews and international video calls.
The programme, which Kru claims to be a UK first, aims to share working ideas across borders, as well as boost team morale. Participants work within their new office in the day, and get the chance to discover their new city in their free time.
Their exchange fortnight will come to an end this weekend (24 January).
Tom Eatenton, chief executive and founder of Kru Live, told Event that all the agencies within The Staffing Collective have shown an interest in getting involved with the programme. He said: "Ultimately, we’d one day like to ask [staff] ‘Where would you like to go?’ and make it happen."
Sarah-Jane Benham, managing director of Kru Live, added: "The purpose of The Staffing Collective is to deliver seamless international activity but also to grow our agencies together through knowledge sharing and group development. The launch of our exchange programme gives each agency the opportunity to physically immerse themselves in our partners’ delivery.
"The team members are sharing new approaches and solutions while elevating their individual industry knowledge and are having a great time doing so too. Both have been well looked after and given time to explore a place they have never visited."
