This year, the caterer is providing a 180-seater beach area called the Koh Lounge, with standing capacity for 500. Guests will be able to watch the aerial displays, including the Red Arrows, overhead as well as on screens displaying Airshow TV.

Alongside sun loungers and cocktails in the High Flyers Quarters, there will be a new themed Hangar Bar where Koh Thai Tapas will be making curries and noodles.

Andrew Lennox, co-director of Koh Thai Tapas, said: "This is our third Koh Lounge and every year we are developing and improving the lounge. This year we are again taking it to another level.

"Our outdoor catering proved so popular last year that we knew we'd have to make it even bigger for 2013. We've added the Hangar Bar and the High Flyers Quarter this year. It's going to be electric."

The Koh Lounge is also raising money for the Jon Eggings Trust – in memory of Flt Lt Jon Egging, a Red Arrows pilot who died when his plane crashed during the 2011 Bournemouth Air Festival.
