A purpose built party pod will be placed outside the modern Indian restaurant in London's Devonshire Square from 7 March until 18 March. Londoners are being encouraged to 'kick off their heels, loosen their ties', and experience spectacular paint throwing festivities to mark the renowned Indian festival of colour. Each session inside the pod lasts for 30 minutes, with overalls and powdered paints provided.
Holi festival itself takes place on 13 March, announcing the arrival of spring and the passing of winter and is a time where families traditionally gather together and cover each other in coloured paint.
To mark the festival, Cinnamon Kitchen will also be serving a five-course Holi menu including dishes such as grilled Kentish lamb escalopes with black stone flower and smoked paprika raita and king prawns in coconut and cardamom curry with ghee rice.
A pop up bar will feature an array of colourful Holi cocktails which may include the Holika Fire – appleback, fresh lime, homemade grenadine and the Neela Heera – Broker’s Gin, Maraschino liqueur, Crème Yvette and fresh lemon, alongside Kingfisher beers. The whole pod can be hired for groups of up to 30.
Cinnamon Kitchen has run a House of Holi experience for the last few years. Beverage brand Sourz activated at the Holi Festival of Colours event in London, held in London in September 2015.
