Described as 'literally ground-breaking', the impactful sculpture depicts the dinosaur breaking through the Observation Point to eat a great white shark dangling from a fishing rod.

The seven-metre tall sculpture was created by Wild Creations, which previously devised Syfy’s water-borne Sharknado stunt and Cardiff Castle’s giant rugby ball. It was unveiled this morning (19 October) to celebrate the release of Jurassic World on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital HD.

The installation is in situ for one day only. Premier is also working on staging the stunt.

Frank Marshall, Jurassic World’s producer, said: "It’s incredible to see the mosasaurus come to life here in London. This huge water-leviathan played a crucial part in the film so we’re thrilled to be able to unveil it to the British public today.

"It is the biggest creature brought to life on screen in all the Jurassic films and the detail in which it has been created here today is just jaw-dropping."

Matt Wild, owner of Wild Creations, added: "The mosasaurus was first sculpted in three quarters of a tonne of clay then moulded in fibre glass, before being airbrushed to finish. We installed it overnight in order to unveil it this morning at sunrise.

"We’re honoured to unveil the mosasaurus in London today and couldn’t be happier with how it’s come out."
