Kevin Jackson, vice president of sales and marketing EMEA at agency George P Johnson, has been appointed chair of the new committee. He will be joined by Mike Smith of Showforce, and ISES’ Middle East chapter; Michelle Tayton of Eventive Communication, UK Chapter; and freelancer Dilsah Demir of the central European chapter.

Commenting on his new role, Jackson said: "I am delighted to take on this role. I believe passionately in ISES and in a globally connected events industry.

"Brands do not think in geographic silos and ISES needs to be ever quicker and more connected if we are to truly deliver for our members."

James Morgan, chair of ISES EMEA, added: "Jackson’s committee is a big boost for ISES EMEA. The region faces considerable structural and marketing challenges.

"With the new committee facilitating a broad marketing and communications strategy, I believe we can create better value for members as well as greater visibility for ISES as the only international association that represents creative event professionals."
