Some options for those party planners who are yet to plan their festive bashes.

APEX INTERNATIONAL HOTEL

Where is it? In Edinburgh's Grassmarket area, near the castle.

What is it? A 171-room luxury hotel that has a rooftop restaurant and several event spaces.

Festive offering? For six dates this December, the Metro brasserie at the hotel is taking on a James Bond theme. The evening will begin with a complimentary vodka martini cocktail followed by a Casino Royale-inspired buffet. Guests can then try their luck in the casino, with Bond film clips playing in the background. The package includes drinks promotions and a disco, and guests are encouraged to dress up as a Bond character.

BINGHAM HOTEL

Where is it? By the river in Richmond upon Thames.

What is it? A boutique-style hotel in a Georgian townhouse.

Festive offering? The hotel is offering party packages in its flexible Garden Rooms. For shared party nights there are three themed options available: Disco, with kitsch glamour and funky beats; Rat Pack - 1950s elegance and live swing band; and Winter Wonderland, with carols and fake snow. Each package includes a cocktail reception, unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks and a three-course dinner. Clients wanting exclusivity can use the hotel's dedicated events team to create bespoke parties.

ASCOT

Where is it? Adjoining Windsor Great Park in the village of Ascot, Berkshire.

What is it? One of the country's leading racecourses.

Festive offering? For 13 nights the self-titled first lady of British burlesque, Miss Immodesty Blaize, will be performing at the venue's Carnevale di Venezia season of Christmas parties. The parties, from 30 November to 22 December, will offer shared and exclusive tables and will be set in the Venetian-themed pavilion. A four-course dinner, disco and entertainment from actors, acrobats, dancers and musicians are included in the price.

CC CLUB

Where is it? On Coventry Street, sandwiched between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square.

What is it? A nightclub and live music venue.

Festive offering? From 27 November to 23 December the venue will be available for parties. Exclusive hire will be available from Sundays to Thursdays for 100 to 1,000 guests, while shared hire with exclusive use of the Dom Perignon Lounge or the Blue Room will be available on Fridays and Saturdays. The venue can tailor menus, from canapes and seated dinners to bowl food and food stations. Entertainment and theming can also be arranged.

CHURCH HOUSE

Where is it? Church House Conference Centre is in Dean's Yard, in the shadows of Westminster Abbey.

What is it? A spacious events venue with 19 different rooms.

Festive offering? Eager to show off Church House's potential, Venue Reservations will be filling the space with traditional Christmas decorations for its Christmas Lights-themed parties. Guests will begin their evening with a drinks reception in the Bishop Partridge Hall or Hoare Memorial Hall, before moving into the Assembly Hall for dinner and dancing. The package includes venue hire, theming, unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks and either a three-course dinner, buffet or bowl food. Clients can also add further entertainment and attractions.

COOKBOOK CAFE

Where is it? On the ground floor of the recently renovated Intercontinental London Park Lane hotel.

What is it? An interactive restaurant run by chef Theo Randall.

Festive offering? Straying away from the traditional festive party, the venue will be offering a Christmas dinner masterclass this winter. Available from 1 November, the three-hour session has been created to help guests develop their skills in the kitchen. Beginning with a champagne cocktail, participants will discover some of the chef's secrets and enjoy a variety of demonstrations. They will also have the opportunity to indulge in a three-course Christmas meal, sampling some of the things that they can make themselves come Christmas day.

EAST WINTERGARDEN

Where is it? In the bustling business centre of Canary Wharf, above the Jubilee Place shopping mall.

What is it? Based on the winter gardens in New York's Battery Park, it is a purpose-built gallery area and event space.

Festive offering? This Christmas, East Wintergarden's 27-metre arched glass atrium will be covered in thousands of fairy lights for Venue Reservations' Under the Stars parties. Guests will begin the evening with a drinks reception on the balcony before moving down to the main dining area, where they will be entertained by music from a professional DJ. A choice of menus from caterer Seasoned Events is available, and the package includes unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks.

KEMPTON PARK

Where is it? On Staines Road East between Sunbury on Thames and Hampton Court.

What is it? A high-profile racecourse, famous for the Stan James King George VI chase on Boxing Day each year.

Festive offering? On non-racing days throughout December guests will celebrate the festive season at one of the venue's shared party nights. Clubhouse party packages include a classic black-and-white themed location, drinks reception, three-course Christmas meal and music until 1am. Alternatively, a range of private suites are available for exclusive hire and can accommodate up to 500 people, or guests can use the venue's glass-fronted Panoramic Restaurant for race-day events.

ROYAL OPERA HOUSE

Where is it? On Bow Street in the heart of Covent Garden.

What is it? A unique entertainment venue that offers organisers a number of separate event spaces.

Festive offering? For two weeks this Christmas, from 3-15 December, agency The Green Room will be offering bespoke party packages in one of the venue's studios. Each set will reflect the lavish feel of the Royal Opera House and its dramatic and vibrant atmosphere, but with a contemporary and quirky twist. There will be a stage area for live performances, daredevil aerial acts from Cirque de Soleil, a round light-bar with a central podium for dancers, and huge audio-visual screens for moving images that will be mixed by a live video jockey.

TROXY

Where is it? Situated on Commercial Road, in between the City and Canary Wharf.

What is it? A 1930s, Art Deco, Grade II-listed building and former theatre that is now a versatile event space.

Festive offering? From 4-8 December, Best Parties Ever will be turning the venue into a scene from the Roaring Twenties for its Christmas ... And All That Jazz party package. The venue's grand staircase and original Tiffany stained-glass ceiling will set the scene, before guests make their way to the Jumpin' Jazz Bar for live entertainment from the Ding Dong Daddios. The package includes full event management, a four-course dinner, disco, casino and a Chicago showgirl cabaret finale.
