Inspiration: Girl about town - Abigail - Parties with the beautiful people

For a lady who loves to party, a trip to La Tomatina, the tomato-throwing festival in the southern Spanish town of Bunol, for GSP's 10th birthday, sounded just perfect; until I actually got splattered with over-ripe tomatoes, that is.

So, after taking an extra-long shower back at the Las Arenas hotel in Valencia, I settled on the beach with a daiquiri in one hand and my pen in the other. It was the ideal time for me to write up my party exploits of the past month.

It all started with a leisurely river cruise on the Thames. Eager to catch up on gossip with some old friends, I boarded the Silver Sturgeon for a Haymarket Specialist social event, where I sipped raspberry martinis and snacked on barbecue food from in-house caterer Rhubarb.

Next day, in need of a little pick-me-up, I indulged in a full body massage and pedicure at RSVP's client afternoon at The Spa at Chancery Court, before making my way across town for the opening of new City drinking spot Revolution Leadenhall where I took part in a vodka-tasting session in party space The Vault.

Later in the week, my good friends at The Cuckoo Club invited me down to a secret Charlatans gig as part of the latest instalment of music mogul Alan McGee's Death Disco series. As well as playing some old favourites, the band performed two tracks from their forthcoming album.

The following evening I attended the Great Taste Awards at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, where I tucked into a Best of British menu from the hotel's executive chef Steve Munkley. With no food in my fridge I was happy to accept caterer Lettice's invitation to its annual summer party at the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in Kensington Gardens, where I indulged in sushi and nibbled on sweet biscuits from Biscuiteers.

Never one to miss out on a birthday celebration, I took a cab to Kent House in Knightsbridge for Evolve Events' seventh birthday, where I enjoyed a three-course dinner from Table Talk, entertainment from Suzy and the Supper Club Dancers and floral displays from Liz Marsh. A few days later I found myself at the launch of the Brewery's autumn/winter menu, where I was entertained by the ladies from Young Guns' String Octet.

Putting on my favourite basque, I tottered down to Jewel Covent Garden for its Devaux Burlesque Party in association with OK! magazine, before travelling across town to the Royal Opera House for the GQ Men of the Year Awards, created and designed by agency Time-Based Events. I was lucky enough to hang out with Kanye West. Bringing the month to an end, I attended Impulse Events' Uncovered party that showcased its services and caterer Mint, before heading off to catch some Spanish sun.
