Little did Private Drama director Adam Blackwood know that a game of James Bond would lead him to produce one of his company's best events.
While on holiday, Blackwood was approached by communications giant Siemens about producing its Think Customer Awards. He explains: "I was playing a James Bond game with my kids when Siemens phoned to say it wanted a glamorous awards setting. I jovially chatted about my Bond game and then realised it could be the perfect theme."
Blackwood and his team put together the event at the Motor Heritage Centre Museum in Warwickshire, based on a classic James Bond movie set. Guests were treated to a drinks reception before being moved into the conference centre, which had been transformed into an ice palace.
As they sat down, the stage came to life as a Bond baddie's lair and two large screens showed Blofeld, threatening to take over the world.
As the speech finished, actor Pierce Brosnan's stunt double crashed through the side of the venue wall on a motorbike, rode across the tables and up on to the stage. This kicked off the awards ceremony and the gongs were handed out by Miss Moneypenny.
