What is it? Alton Towers is much more than a theme park. Two hotels, a state-of-the-art conference centre, Cariba Creek Waterpark and the Alton Towers Hotel Spa, ensure it's an excellent party venue.
What's it got? The Alton Towers Conference Centre offers a wide range of facilities catering for a variety of creative events. The Stateroom in the main suite can host 550 guests theatre-style, or 430 for a gala dinner, while Sir Algenon's Lounge is great for refreshments or pre-dinner drinks. The eight smaller rooms seat up to 30 for a boardroom presentation or 40 for smaller, more intimate dinners.
Anything else? All of the rooms benefit from natural daylight and the ground floor Stateroom has direct access for production companies. The Alton Towers Hotel has 175 bedrooms, while Splash Landings, a Caribbean-themed hotel with integrated Waterpark, has 216 rooms. Both of the hotels also have individually themed restaurants and bars.
Who's been there? Previous clients include Barclays, Deloitte & Touche, Dixons Store Group, Goodyear, Coca-Cola, Lex Transfleet and BT. These companies have staged a wide range of events, which have ranged from residential creative events for 550 delegates through to gala awards celebrations and family fun days, with several thousand people using the theme park.
How do I get there? By road from the North, junction 28 on the M1 and then junction 16 on the M6. From the South, junction 23a on the M1 and junction 15 on the M6. Alton Towers is 15 minutes off the A50. By train, Stoke-on-Trent station is just 14 miles away.
