Crafty Arty Parties took its party-planning skills to Downing Street when it launched First News, the country's first children's newspaper (below). The children's event specialist provided a party for celebrities and their children, including David Beckham, Jamie Oliver and Richard Branson. It created a "magical" custom-built set with a range of characters.

Organiser Single Market Events and the British Fashion Council are offering hospitality packages for London Fashion Week in September. Guests will enjoy the glamour of the event and be the first non-industry visitors to preview 2007's spring and summer collections. The packages are available from 19-22 September at the Natural History Museum.

Visitors to Square Meal's Venues and Events show will be treated to free food. Courtesy of caterer Office Diner, all visitors will receive a food voucher when they register for the show, which will allow them to claim a meal in the venue's restaurant. Show director Tanya Cohen said: "It is different and provides our visitors with a big 'thank you'." The show will take place from 20-21 September at Billingsgate.

Lord Michael Heseltine will host a party later this month to mark the launch of Haymarket Publishing's latest business venture. Blue Boomerang, an online directory for Haymarket's specialist directory publications, will launch at Debenham House in Holland Park (below) on 22 June. Directory listings to be featured within the latest web offer from Heseltine's publishing company stem from titles such as Event - the Buyer's Guide, Venue and Promotions and Incentives' Price Guide and Buyer's Guide. Richmond Catering will supply the food for around 200 guests.
