The activity, to mark the launch of the Great Singapore Airlines' getaway campaign, included a food truck serving traditional Singaporean cuisine, virtual reality headsets whisking visitors away to the famous sights and streets of Singapore and a photo booth with a ‘choose your own Singapore adventure’ in-flight and destination backdrops to create the perfect holiday snap.
The food truck visited Birmingham, London and Bristol last week, wrapping up with a stop in Manchester's Exchange Square on Saturday (17 September), giving visitors a chance to try the sights, sounds and tastes of Singapore with Singaporean cuisine created by renowned chef Anthony Yeoh, and the Singapore Girls cabin crew.
The dish of the day was Roti Jala, a popular morning or breakfast snack served with curry. Roti Jala, meaning ‘net bread’ symbolises the cultural threads that tie multicultural Singapore together.
The getaway campaign highlights attractive promotional fares and perks, as well as the chance to win prizes.
South African Tourism is hosting a VR experience on London's South Bank this week, while Trinidad & Tobago Tourist Board is hosting an island-themed pop-up next month, also in Manchester.
