Temporary structure provider GL Events Owen Brown has built more hospitality space than ever before for tomorrow’s Investec Derby Day (2 June) at Epsom Downs Racecourse which kicks off the bank holiday festivities.

The 233rd Derby is expected to be the biggest-ever, with the Queen in attendance.

Owen Brown has fitted a record 4,200sqm of temporary structures, while its sister firm, GL Events Snowdens has supplied more than 3,000sqm of soft-sided structures for additional public bars, wet weather cover, picnic areas and police control facilities.

As previously reported Crown Group company Piggotts has dressed London’s West End with 1,000 Union Jack flags, while Brighton-based firm Blades was appointed to line the top deck of the Queen’s barge with a carpet of red grass.

On Sunday (3 June) London's Piccadilly will be closed to traffic for the first time for a Jubilee street party, with Bafta, Fortnum & Mason, The Ritz and the Royal Academy of Arts all taking part.

Event will be enjoying the action both on and off the river with London RIB Voyages and at the Jubilee Pageant viewing area by Inneventive at Sugar Quay Jetty.
