The deal will see both events brought under IMG’s operation. The management team and staff of PWR will continue their roles within the company’s events division.
The company would not diclose the financial details of the transaction.
PWR Events was awarded the contract to promote and manage Winter Wonderland in London until 2017.
The procurement bolsters IMG’s summer and winter events portfolio, which also includes the Taste Festivals, The Color Run and the Natural History Museum Ice Rink.
Stephen Flint Wood, senior vice president, managing director of arts and entertainment at IMG, said: "We are excited to bring PWR into the IMG family along with the management team that has done such a great job of making these popular events so successful. We look forward to working together to continue to develop and enhance these landmark events in two of London’s most iconic and historic venues."
Jamie Wells, director of PWR Events, added: "We are delighted to be working with IMG and excited at the prospect of what the two companies can achieve together."
IMG itself was acquired by entertainment agency WME last year.
