Horse show switches to NEC

The Horse of the Year Show is moving to the NEC after more than 40 years at Wembley Arena.

The Horse of the Year Show is moving to the NEC after more than 40 years at Wembley Arena. The move is the result of a two-year deal with show organiser Grandstand Media. Attendance at the show is rising and the organiser felt the show needed more space. Last year’s event attracted more than 45,000 people. Grandstand Media director Mark Wein said: “With the extended seating capacity, increased trade stand space and the NEC’s central location we feel this move will not only be successful, but will prove popular with competitors and visitors.” Wembley director of sales and marketing Peter Tudor said: “Regrettably, we were unable to guarantee the availability of some outdoor space required for the show. Wembley is proud of its long association with the Horse of the Year Show and we wish the event every success in its new home.” This year’s event will take place from 9-13 October.
