Hong Kong to target events as SARS ends

The Hong Kong Tourist Board (HKTB) is targeting event organisers as part of a HK$1bn (£78m) recovery programme following the end of the SARS outbreak.

The Hong Kong Tourist Board (HKTB) is targeting event organisers as part of a HK$1bn (£78m) recovery programme following the end of the SARS outbreak. A series of events to promote the city will take place up to March 2004. They include Hong Kong Welcomes the World, which will be held on 14 August. HKTB will also produce a new venues guide. Hong Kong is enjoying renewed confidence and has already attracted 52 new events for the rest of 2003.
