The market opened as an event venue in February, and will remain open for events througout the winter. It can accommodate receptions for up to 350 in the Market Hall as well as seated dinners for up to 100 in 1 Cathedral Street, a grand Victorian building that is the historic home of the Borough Market Trustees.
The festive menus have been designed to reflect Borough Market’s food credentials, using produce from the market’s traders as well as providing unique add-ons that tie in with the market’s history.
Patrick Harbour, co-owner and director of Harbour & Jones Events, said: "It’s very exciting for us to be able to work with the country’s most well-known market whose name is synonymous with food quality and provenance.
"Borough Market has been apart of our company’s history since Harbour & Jones was first created in 2004. We used to bring all new starters to the company to the market for their inductions to enthuse them about food and give them the opportunity to talk to some of our suppliers in person," he added.
Keith Davis, managing director of Borough Market, added: "Christmas is an incredibly special time of year at Borough Market with stalls piled high with festive produce and the historic arches decked out in festive finery. This year we are delighted to be able to share all of this with even more people as we open up our unique space for event hire for the first time."
Borough Market and Harbour & Jones Events are planning an invite-only showcase that will take place at the beginning of October.
