The aim of The Happy Egg Co.'s three-month campaign, which kicked off in Northumberland on 21 May, is to engage families and their children on the free range journey ‘from farm to fork’ and educate them about the health benefits derived from eggs.
The Eggy bus will offer interactive learning zones for children to educate them on the ancestry of chickens, chick petting, the way hens live on the farm and the grading process taking an egg ‘from nest to plate’.
There will also be quizzes, live food demonstrations, recipe cards, tips for parents and surprise visits from the brand’s mascot 'Freda Roam'.
The tour will visit a number of retail sites, including Asda and Sainsbury’s, plus county shows such as The Lincolnshire Show, Royal Highland Show and Royal Three Counties Show before heading to primary schools to support the national curriculum on food and animal education.
The Happy Egg Co. has worked with consultants TTS Group to develop an educational programme in line with the UK school curriculum.
Agency Savvy Creative has designed and created the internal activity stations and communications for the bus activity, while publicity is being handled by Mischief PR.
Springetts looked after the external creative and design of the bus and Parachute Marketing are overseeing the experiential retail and county show bus tour. Nonsense will be providing digital and social support.
Rob Newell, marketing director at The Happy Egg Co., said: "With the belief that great tasting eggs are laid by the happiest hens, we want to help educate consumers and youngsters alike about the importance of hen welfare and the benefits of eating our great tasting eggs.
"We can’t wait to begin our tour and we’re confident that our fun, interactive bus will provide a rich educational experience for all the family."
