The day featured a packed seminar programme, covering brand experiences, event technology, and Event magazine’s Women in Events campaign.
Speakers from sister agencies Amplify and People-Made kicked off the sessions with an insightful presentation on building a brand from the inside out, while tech experts including BD Systems’ Oliver Richardson, and RefTech’s Ken Clayton, spoke about the problems of connectivity and why an event app isn’t always the answer.
The afternoon featured a lively panel session on women in events. Speakers Tracy Haliwell of London & Partners; Crown managing director Nicky Havelaar; Nis Arend, head of operations at Barclays, and Contraband’s Archie Archer talked about the challenges of balancing a career in the industry with having children, and why women don't feel the need to shout about their achievements.
Delegates from British Airways, Virgin Media, Hearst, HSBC and EDF Energy networked on Vue’s comfortable sofas, whist enjoying delicious food from DeWintons, including a sushi station.
They were entertained in the afternoon by Britain’s Got Talent finalists Band of Voices, who performed acapella renditions of Jessie J’s Price Tag and Seal’s Kiss from a Rose.
