The activation, which kicks off on 24 March at Hysan Place in Causeway Bay and runs until 9 April, forms part of HSBC's sponsorship of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens. A booth brings to life HSBC Try Rugby, a new grassroots rugby programme that aims to introduce rugby to more Hong Kong primary schools to provide children with more opportunities to enjoy the sport.
The HSBC Try Rugby booth offers a number of exciting games where participants can test their running speed against a professional Rugby Sevens player, Hong Kong Rugby team mascot "Wai Bei", or friends and family; challenge their reaction speed by disabling as many lights as possible within a time limit and learn about the core skills of rugby by working around an obstacle course to try to win a prize.
Participants aged 12 years old or under who achieve the highest scores at specified time intervals throughout the course of the game will win a mini rugby ball from the HSBC Try Rugby programme. Every participant will be entered into a grand prize lucky draw, where the winner will receive a signed Hong Kong Rugby Team shirt. Lucky visitors will also get the chance to meet a Hong Kong Rugby Team member or international rugby legend during one of their surprise visits.
More: HSBC launched a range of activations as part of its sponsorship of the Wimbledon Championships last year. The brand also activated at golf tournament The Open, where it challenged golf fans to try their hand at the game.
