Global: GPJ bolsters creative team in US

Agency George P Johnson (GPJ) has made two promotions at its Los Angeles office as it seeks to strengthen its expertise in creating entertaining brand activations.

Erik McKinney and Erik Reponen have been promoted to group creative directors and co-leads of the GPJ Los Angeles 20-member creative department.

McKinney’s talents and background include conceptual thinking, copywriting and storytelling. His agency background includes Mosaic Chicago, Legacy Marketing Partners, Situ8 and Relay. Reponen had been collaborating with GPJ via his role as a creative director at sister agency Spinifex, but has now officially joined the team. His expertise in digital platforms, integrated campaigns and branding complement McKinney’s skill set. Prior to Spinifex, Reponen spent three years at Huge in Los Angeles.

The agency recently apppointed James Klein as SVP of live production. Klein, who ran his own company called James Klein Events for more than 15 years and most recently was an executive producer and partner at No More Boundaries, is based in New York.
