Miller will talk about the importance of infrastructure on a festival site and give an insight into the build and maintenance activities that ensure the show is a success year after year.

"For the Glastonbury site, returning it to its original farming state is essential as it is a working field when not being used for the festival," said Miller. "Visitors to the session will be able to find out about the contingency planning that goes on from a land and infrastructure perspective from licensing to building regulations and environmental issues.

"I will also be revealing the secrets behind little known facts such as the two reservoirs, both holding a million litres of water, and a five mile ring-main that goes around the site."

The session, being held in seminar theatre one from 12-12.45pm, will follow on from the Earl of Shaftesbury’s ‘Estates as an Event Space’ seminar in which he hopes to get input from event organisers on how to shape his estate into an events venue.

IOEX takes place alongside International Confex at Excel London from 6-8 March.
