Gearhouse completes name change to MCL

The Northern and Midlands division of Gearhouse completed its

re-branding as MCL last month. Its first task was to provide equipment

for the Capital Radio 2001 Awards Lunch.

MCL's operations in Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester have now been

aligned to MCL London. The move is designed to give the company a higher

national profile. Mike Bell and Tony Cant will head the London and

Birmingham offices.

'The opportunities for MCL to provide true national coverage have been

fully matched by the extension of the MCL brand,' said MCL London

managing director Bell. 'We are keen to ensure that at any MCL location

the client has the same guarantee of quality and commitment.'

'The changeover has gone extremely well and the future is very bright,'

said a spokesman for the company. 'We have lots of future events planned

and we have made a major investment in new kit and staff. Clients have

only been too happy for us to become this new group.'

At the Capital lunch, MCL provided cameras, a video-wall and beta

playback.

The company also designed the video-wall, which was part of the stage

set. MCL also used 42-inch plasma displays staggered down the length of

the ballroom.
