Gallowglass widens offer as it snaps up seating supplier

Gallowglass has bought temp- orary seating supplier JMS Management for an undisclosed amount. The contractor, which provides crews and modular staging, has expanded into offering seating for small niche events in a bid to combat a traditional dip in business during the summer. “There’s a gap in the market as many suppliers focus on the larger events, but it is not our intention to go head to head with Arena Seating,” said Gallowglass head of operations Nick Grecian. “Seating and staging appeals to both the corporate and outdoor events markets.” JMS managing director Jonathan Smith will head the new division. The move follows Gallow- glass’s success at the CEA Awards in late November when the company scooped the night’s top prize as well as picking up Event Supplier of the Year. “The Victor Ludorum trophy came out of the blue and stunned everyone. But it set off a big night of celebration,” added Grecian. Gallowglass clients over the past year have included Vauxhall, for the launch of its Meriva and Signum cars, plus Siemens. The company has also carried out work for BBC Radio 1, Bloomberg and the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
