Mayo, who joined the agency on Monday (4 January), is responsible for providing marketing expertise to FreemanXP's exposition team and its agency service, and it set to work closely with the Freeman enterprise marketing organisation in North America.
Mayo stepped down from her role as brand and business development director at TRO at the end of last year, where she was responsible for the agency’s marketing, public relations and business development.
She has also worked client side, and held events roles at companies including Honda UK, Lebara and Callaway Golf.
Mayo said: "I’m excited to join such an outstanding global company and this strong and inspiring Freeman EMEA team. Their vision and design-driven approach piqued my interest as a storyteller."
"I’m looking forward to making a real impact on the EMEA business by telling the compelling Freeman story. What better way to start 2016 than with a new opportunity, and at such a significant time for the Freeman brands globally."
Kim Myhre, senior vice-president, managing director, FreemanXP EMEA, added: "Freeman EMEA offers a full array of brand experience services to our customers across the region.
"Sarah will be responsible for driving awareness of our portfolio of capabilities – from strategy, creative and design to production, logistics and audio visual. We are very much looking forward to her bringing her marketing expertise to our ever-expanding team."
Anthony Floreano, managing director of Freeman EMEA, said: "We are very excited to welcome Sarah to Freeman. Her talent and expertise will be a great addition to our organisation as our business in EMEA continues to grow."
