Designed by the famed architect Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1911, BMA House has been home of the British Medical Association since 1925. The style is neo-classical Palladian with Corinthian Columns, a striking combination of red brick and Portland Stone and finished with Westmoreland slate roofs. This stunning backdrop provides the perfect setting to impress your guests.
The house boasts a large Courtyard perfect for hosting a summer party for up to 320 guests. Set against the backdrop of the Grade II listed House the Courtyard features a memorial fountain and impressive memorial gates – dedicated to doctors who served in world wars I and II. This unique backdrop is spacious and ideal for serving a barbecue whilst being entertained by a jazz trio or entertainer of your choice.
In the case of inclement weather the Lutyens Suite comprises of two separate rooms directly adjacent to the Courtyard. Alternatively the Great Hall on the first floor overlooks the Courtyard and provides an impressive space for eating and entertainment.
The Garden located in a separate area of the grounds has a beautiful pond and is surrounded by physic plants with medicinal properties. This more intimate space accommodates up to 90 guests standing - canapés or barbecues can be served in the Garden. The Garden Room directly adjacent is a contemporary space and provides the perfect escape from summer showers!
