Crayola's centenary bus

On 24 August, children's arts and crafts brand Crayola celebrated its centenary with the launch of a branded double decker bus. The bus travelled to retail sites across the UK, and invited kids and their families inside to experience games, activites, themed play areas and performances. Character performers Pip and Tip were on hand to guide families through the experience. The tour culminated on 3 September at Smyths toy store in Wallsend in North Tyneside.

Oculus' experiential roadshow

Virtual reality (VR) brand Oculus joined up with agency Jack Morton to create an experiential roadshow this month, which is currently visiting Westfield Stratford. The 'Rift and Touch' tour aims to give guests an exclusive experience of the latest VR technology that the brand has to offer. The VR headsets give users the opportunity to immerse themselves in a range of different adventures such as scaling the Himalayas, or casting spells against an evil opponent. Oculus is using the tour as part of a wider retail activation which also includes demo activity and bespoke window designs at flagship John Lewis and Dixons Carphone Group stores and Game outlets.

Sony's 'Future of Play' tour

Kicking off on 22 September, the 'Future of Play' tour, staged by Sony and agency Circle, offered gamers the opportunity to experience the brand's new VR headset first hand as it travelled across the UK. The six-date tour featured 20 playable stations which could be booked or tested via a walk-in trial. Brand ambassadors aided guests in experiencing the latest piece of Sony Playstation technology and Playstation 4 Pro was also on display ahead of its official launch on November 10.

Oreo's 'Flavour Mobile' tour

To celebrate its new mint and limited edition strawberry cheesecake varieties, sandwich cookie brand Orea launched its 'Flavour Mobile' to give guests the chance to try the new flavours. The Flavour Mobile launched on 26 August, and visited seven cities across the UK including Cardiff, Bath, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle. It also appeared at Bestival, SouthWestFour and House of Common festivals.

Hayman's Gin's afternoon tea bus tours 

Gin brand Hayman's has teamed up with B Bakery to stage a bus tour incorporates two British classics: gin and afternoon tea. The tours will take place over three weekends throughout November and December and will be hosted on vintage Routemaster buses, allowing guests to see London's most iconic attractions as they enjoy their tea. The bespoke afternoon tea will be provided by B Bakery and will feature Hayman's Gin infused delights and two complimentary Hayman's Gin cocktails. Desserts will showcase three of the Hayman's Gin range.
