What are your ambitions/goals for the business?
Our ambition is to build the best staffing technology in the world. We believe the market opportunity is vast with industry verticals from event staffing through to hospitality, security, catering, call centres and retail outlets. All running shift based, temporary work forces that stand to gain from leveraging this technology. Our ambition is to build a $100m business in this space.
What is your best piece of work or stand-out moment?
Receiving unsolicited positive feedback from customers and their staff. Our users use Watu eight hours a day, five days a week. We gain huge satisfaction knowing that we're helping make their jobs easier, helping the businesses prosper, and giving field staff such a rich experience that they have written into their agencies to say how much they like the technology.
What makes you a Fab 50 Newcomer?
We are the first company to attempt to deliver a subscription-based staffing database solution to this industry. By doing so, we're providing a technology solution that previously only the bigger agencies could afford.
We're super ambitious. We want to build a product that changes the world in it's own way, with hundreds of thousands of users logging in each and every day to better facilitate the process of finding and being booked on work.
We're focussed on making the lives of the people who use Watu better, and the booking of people on to live events awesome.
Finally, we're doing this the good old fashioned way, self financed, working our butts off to get profitable and running the business as lean as we possibly can. Being recognised by Fab 50 would be a great honour to us and will keep the motivation up as we burn the midnight oil to code the coolest staffing technology out there.
