What are your ambitions/goals for the business?
Our goal is to be the number one event company that people come to in Scotland and further afield. We want to grow the business - more Lux-ers, more clients, more events across the UK and Europe. We’d like to branch into other sectors too.
We want to continue working with like-minded organisations that have similar values to us. That way we know we’ll get great results. For us it's about partnership, collaboration, and working as a team to deliver an event that will be memorable for all the right reasons and importantly, an event that can demonstrate a real return on investment.
The ethos of Lux is also hugely important to us. We’re striving to create a company that empowers those working within it, nurtures talent and encourages creativity.
We want the Lux workplace to be an enjoyable and rewarding place to be - for everyone to look forward to their working day and feel a valued part of the team. We aim to create a positive working environment for staff, clients and suppliers alike where mutual respect is key.
What is your best piece of work or stand-out moment?
In January, Lux was accepted into the Edinburgh Hatchery of the eSpark business accelerator scheme set up and supported by Sir Tom Hunter, Sir Willie Haughey and Ann Gloag OBE.
We were thrilled to be in the top three #GoDo companies at the annual awards dinner in March this year. The #GoDo attitude is one of determination, focus and driving your business forward. A proud Lux moment.
What makes you a Fab 50 Newcomer?
With a combined 30+ years event management experience, and a track record like Usain Bolt (well, we're working on it!), we know our stuff. Designing, running and delivering successful events takes experience, expertise and knowledge. Along with a bucketful of passion and drive, with Lux you get the full package.
We’re doing things differently and offer both freelance and full event management services – our clients choose the resource that fits in best with them. We can take on every aspect of an event or specific areas our clients need help and support with.
We believe technology will set us apart from the competition. We’re embracing the use of clever technology by developing the Lux event app which will offer an innovative, fully integrated app and web platform that will revolutionise how we engage with delegates and importantly how they interact and feedback. It’s an exciting time for team Lux at the moment.
