Expo's debut show put back after tsunami

South African-based organiser Expo International has postponed the UK launch of its International Awesome Food and Drink Show.

Show director Glenn Hawes attributed the decision to the impact of the Boxing Day tsunami, which forced a number of Asian companies to withdraw.

The exhibition, which was due to take place at Excel from 20-22 May 2005, will now move to 23-15 June 2006. It will be the first event Expo International has organised in the UK and Hawes is adamant it will be able to compete with existing shows such as Haymarket's BBC Good Food Show and Reed Exhibitions' Food and Drink Expo.
